Peg loom woven Rug/Mat/Wall hanging
This is a unique woven piece made from Achill Blackface wool fibre. Woven on a peg loom, which is an ancient weaving technique. All fibres are washed by an ancient and traditional fermentation method, washed to remove lanolin and hand dyed with wool and silk dyes. The fibres are twisted and woven bit by bit using jute cord threaded through the pegs. These pieces can be used as rugs, mats, wall hangings, pet beds. Woven from wool fibre directly from the sheep and not over processed guard hairs and some vegetation may remain. Can be washed by soaking in lukewarm water and handing to dry carefully. Vigorous washing may result in felting. These are known as The Atlantic Fleece coleection.
